What inspired you to make this 4th of July Design?
It has been a while since I did a 4th of July outfit.. I think we needed an updated one.

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
Deciding on the overall look of the outfit.. our other outfit is more playful so I decided to go more sexy with this one.

What was the easiest part of the outfit to design?
the hat and shoes were fun.. fun seems to equal easy.. or vice versa lol

What made you decide to sell the ears and tails for the 4th set separately?
I updated the scripts in the previous version of the tails and because I wanted a non-neko specific version this time around.. I thought some might like the tail without having to buy a whole new outfit.

What made you decide to add a hair style to this look?
Just for fun.

Any plans to make other outfits themed on national holidays in America or other countries? (Canada Day, Mother's Day, etc)
I have really thought about it... I just wonder where to stop once I start... There are so many nations and as an American myself I'm not sure I could do them justice. I honestly don't look at design as simply throwing colors onto clothing... I put a lot of thought into what I do.

What inspired you to create this latest design?
It was for a recent fashion show with a 'summer' theme. I thought a bit about summer and roses came to mind and I felt I just needed to do a new fairy outfit

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
It was all quite easy for me, I can't complain about one part. Making the textures is a bit time consuming but still fun.

What was the easiest part of the outfit to design?
The wings.. I had fun making the textures and getting them together

What inspired you to use roses as the theme for the outfit?
I think there is something both elegant and summery about roses

This outfit was made for The Fashion Files - Summer 2011 Fashion Show, did it create more of a challenge than a normal release? Did you see the show?
No, it actually didn't make it more difficult. The outfits came together quite easily for me.

So many fae! Ever thought of adding a Fairy Garden to the store?
Perhaps.. there will be more to come I'm sure...

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?
I think it is good year round and the wings could be used with a red gown and look stunning

What inspired you to create this latest design?
This is an example of an outfit that starts as one idea but evolves into something else as I work on it. When I was playing with texturing I fell in love with the pin striping so reworked it a little. I love the dressed-up but very sexy neko look that comes from this outfit.

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
Deciding on a boot style. Part of me was tempted to take this away from a "neko" outfit but as I thought about it I decided that it could hold its own as a  neko or non-neko outfit. We all have amazing black heeled boots in our inventory that we could pair it with. I liked the idea that it could do double- duty.

What was the easiest part of the outfit to design?
The dress/jacket. I knew the basic look I wanted for it but I changed up the skirt length from my origingal intent.

How did you decide upon making it in black?
Black lends itself perfectly to pin striping

The sleeves are amazing! Where did you get the idea for them?
I knew I needed a bit of a structured look- something different in Neko wear. Many designs are slumpy or grungy or fun... I wanted to try a totally different idea here.

Where can you envision someone wearing this outfit on SL?
I think to any social event or sim exploring. It is so different and eye catching- anywhere you want to be noticed.

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?
I hope you can have fun with this- the jacket/dress could be switched up with some under layers- leather pants and heels for example or a bandeau top. I've seen it worn without the prim skirt too and its hot

Any hints to your next amazing creation?
I've completed work on a new line of separates! 8 new items in several colors each.. that can be worn casually or paired up with other pieces to make an elegant outift.

Behind the Scenes - Luxe

Have you ever wondered what goes on in LoveCats head? The story behind some of your favorite outfits? Now you can get a sneak peek into the world of LoveCats with this special blog exclusive interview about one of the latest LoveCats Neko Shop & Mall design; Luxe!

What inspired you to create this new line of separates?
I've heard it said we need more separates in the shop ;) I thought it would be easy to put together a line of new items that can be worn in different ways- wow was I wrong! It was difficult to choose colors and patterns and which pieces and organizing it all! lol

How did you pick the name Luxe?
Once everything was finished I sat back and looked at the collection as a whole and that was the first thing that came to me. The texturing and vibrant colors I think are what brought this name to mind.

What thoughts went into deciding which pieces to put into the line?
I wanted pieces that could be bought one at a time or as a full ensemble. I had to keep in mind if the piece would be useful with other items in the store and how they go with the other pieces in the line. Also keeping in mind that summer is coming and we always want to keep it sexy ;)

What was the easiest part of making the Luxe line?
I can't think of anything that was easy in this- I set myself up for a challenge here.

What was the hardest part of making the Luxe line?
The organization of it all was a huge challenge. The actual design process was a little easier. I tried to focus on one piece at a time and worry about the big picture later so I didn't get overwhelmed. I think people don't realize how much time and work a designer spends on their designs. It is really a labor of love.

How did you decide upon the colors for the pieces?
I wanted some sweet prints in the mix and a good range of colors geared toward summer wear but that could also be used throughout the year. I wanted there to be something for everyone.

Are you planning on expanding the Luxe line?
Yes. I already have some pieces started.

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?
I hope that everyone can find something they like in this collection and I hope you have fun with it. Fashion should be fun!

Any hints to your next amazing creation?
I'll be adding pieces to this line here and there. I think for my next 'big' project I'll be switching gears- I'm feeling dark and sexy... so will see what comes of that inspiration.

What inspired you to create this latest design?
I wanted to play with another Easter design, but something that could be worn outside the holiday, something a little darker and more exotic.

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
Making the right textures to get an Asian look but still keep it light enough to pull off as a bunny outfit

What was the easiest part of the outfit to design?
Since I used the same pieces, essentially, from the Harlequin Bunneh, I didn't need to totally rebuild anything. I think I managed to get a totally different look with the same pieces. This made it a little easier.

Why did you decide to make Sekushii Bunneh as well as Harlequin Bunneh?
I actually intended on a few different choices, but RL got in the way :(

What thought went into designing the male version of Sekushii Bunneh?
My biggest concern was making something that guys could wear outside of the holiday. I think It is hot without the ears and nose, neko guys can buy it now, or in June or September and it will still be wearable.

Your Easter outfits weren't pastel this year, how come?
I really wanted to try to get away from the 'Playboy bunny' look and the pastel bunny look that is so prevalent. I just wanted to do something different and fun.

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?
I hope that I'll see these outfits around in a couple of months, that will show me I suceeded in making something usable throughout the year.

Any hints to your next amazing creation?
I'm working on some more requests and I am also feeling like going back to my 'sexy' roots... will see what comes of it ;)

What inspired you to create this latest design?
I wanted to do something fun and different for Easter, Also something that could be worn, maybe as a wild outfit after the holiday.

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
Getting the print to line up in photoshop! Grrr lol

What was the easiest part of the outfit to design?
Deciding on the overall look of the outfit, I knew I wanted it to be a little different, wild and fun.

How do you compare this years Easter style to the one you made last year?
Last years was very traditional, sweet Easter dress style. I wanted to give customers something totally different.

Do you plan to do any other harlequin style outfits in the future?
I may yes, who knows what might strike me.

Why did you decide to go flopped ears rather than upward pointing ears?
I like that they are different, not something on most of the costumes I see in SL, plus there is an extra sweetness I think to floppy ears.

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?
I think after the holiday this could be a really fun part of anyone's wardrobe... I see it with a little goth tophat, torn stockings and granny boots with a silly umbrella or maybe part of an Alice in wonderland outfit.

Any hints to your next amazing creation?
I think I'll do a little for the guys and then take a breath and think "What do us kitties need?"

What inspired you to create this latest design?
I get so many requests for country inspired neko. It is one of the most requested items.. so I thought I would give it a go.

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
Getting an overall look that appealed to me, keeping it neko but something that could be worn by non-nekos as well.

What was the easiest part of the outfit to deisgn?
The chaps, had fun with those :D

You went with kitty boots instead of a classic cowboy boot; how come?
Since the requests have been for 'neko' country... I tried to stick with that but come up with a design that could easily be worn by non-nekos. I figured most of us already have some cowboy boots in our closets.. but who has snakeskin fringed boomers?

What music did you listen to while designing Snakebite, if any?
Truthfully I don't listen to country at all *ducks* I think on my playlist at the time was some deftones, sublime, Bob Marley, some dubstep mixes and techno.

So does this mean you're a little bit country and I get to be a little bit rock and roll?
Hehe. I think you can be whatever you want in this outfit. I did think a lot about 80's rock and growing up in a very small town when I was making this. While I've outgrown my small town roots- some nostalgia definitely went into this outfit. I hope its fun for you too!

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?
I think this is a good one for country fans and those who aren't as well. I like the versatility of the layers and I like the different looks you can get by adding heels or taking off the jacket, I think it would be hot with a little tee too.

Any hints to your next amazing creation?
I'm in the mood for spring.. and Easter. So expect some more bunny costumes lol

What inspired you to create this latest design?
This outfit is one that started out with one idea and turned into something totally different. Sometimes they take on a life of their own, as odd as that sounds.

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
Getting the overall "look" to work despite the fact that it was so different from what I originally envisioned.

What was the easiest part of the outfit to deisgn?
The jewelery, I love to make jewelry. In real life too :)

How did you decide on the colors for Eternal?
I thought to keep it simple, red and black and rather than white, I went with silver. I think that is my favorite.

Which one of your skins do you think would go best with Eternal?
I think the grey kitten skin would be really pretty with any of the colors.

Is Eternal a sign for kittens expect more sexy looks in the future?
I try to always keep it sexy, I often play with whimsy as well, combining the two. Yes I would like to do more sexy and elegant designs. My tastes vary so much, I believe that is true with most women. I think one of the beautiful things in SL is we are able to 'reinvent' ourselves daily and when I design, I keep this in mind. I love to be able to have a different look each day and each day get a "wow" response. I'll keep putting out a variety of designs so we can all enjoy that "wow"

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?
I think the detailed prim work and jewelry are such a wonderful part of this outfit. Unfortunately on a flat board in a shop.. the details are lost. I think it is one of the many designs that needs to be seen up close and in person. So please be sure to come by the shop to see it modeled.

Any hints to your next amazing creation?
I often work on a few things at once. Right now I am working on 3 different outfits, I'm not sure yet which will come out on top ;) I get so many requests for particular items or themes. I'm working right now to get a few of them out there. So if you have been asking for something... you might see it soon ;)

What inspired you to create this latest design?
I've really had my head in the clouds lately, faes and sprites and magical beings. I was thinking about the store lacking white outfits and the thought came to me to do a pegasus or angel... well, the angel theme has been done so many times I thought I would try something really fantastical. I think this was kind of the culmination of all my dreaming.

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
It seems the things I enjoy the most are those I find easiest. Since I really had fun with this outfit I didn't find anything really difficult.

What was the easiest part of the outfit to deisgn?
Once I got a feel for the 'classical' pegasus wing's look passed from the Greeks to the Middle ages and Renaissance I got really psyched about trying to recreate them realistically. I had a lot of fun with it.

Unicorn horn, pegasus wings, neko tail; creating a new type of creature?
Well... A pegasus is a winged horse and a unicorn is a horned horse. Hybrid unicorn/pegasus hybrids are pretty common in fantasy these days. Since horses have tails, I figured a full pretty tail like the ones we carry already would be purrfect.

You offer both kitty boots and a hooved version, what made you decide to make both types?
I originally made the outfit with the digi legs... I felt like it would be a lot of fun and a bit more different but realized that really dedicated neko's might prefer to be a neko dressed as a pegasus/unicorn... rather than moving toward a more 'furry' look. I felt it best to offer both options. Honestly... I don't know which I like better, I switch back and forth- I think they are both great options.

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?
Just like most everything I make... I made this usable for many occasions. The outfit can be worn without the wings and horn for a really cute and sexy- strictly 'neko' look, the wings can be used in a 'fae' outfit with another white outfit. I love mixing and matching and having lots of options. So much comes with this outfit that I really do find it a "must have"

Any hints to your next amazing creation?
I've just finished up a new group gift for men and women I hope everyone loves. After this, I think I'm going to switch direction a bit... though what that means, I'm not sure yet. I go where my imagination takes me!

What inspired you to create this latest design?
Why, St. Patty's day, of course. Plus I had a lot of requests for more holiday oufits similar to the XOXO and Bubbly outfit- I try to fill requests when possible!

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
Picking out the right shade of green lol

Before you made Patty for St. Patrick's day, what were your goals this year for the themed outfit to make it different?
Patty was 'cute' and leprechan-ish.. I wanted to do something just flat out sexy this year.

What were your ideas when creating a male version? Inspiration?
I tried to make it match the female's version but still a little 'cool' I know how much couples like to match so I try really hard to keep them similar.

So if people drink green beer for St. Paddy's day do nekos drink green milk?
I think I'll take the beer.... unless it is milk and mint baileys... then we can talk.

I'm glad to have a little lull between holidays... I am still on a fantasy kick... so expect the unexpected.....

What inspired you to create this latest design?
I was feeling a little dark, but sensual and vampiric. I decided on something soft and romantic but sexy

How do you decide on the name?
When I wore it as it was finished, I felt like my name might be Anastasia, something alluring like from a romance novel ;)

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
Finding the right skirt style.

What was the easiest part of the outfit to deisgn?
The lace bodice. I knew exactly what I wanted.

The lace is rather risque and sexy, what prompted to not have a modesty option?
I tried it on with a couple of different skins and it seemed it wasn't *too* risque... a soft trace of a nipple through a womans top is something that drives men (and women) wild. I didn't think it was overt. And with a lace top, it is only  natural.

If you could suggest a hair color/style to go with this outfit, what would it be?
Myself, I would go with something black and soft, not too full, something that lets the collar stand out and doesn't lay over the front of the outfit. The back is so sexy too, so I would keep it short or an updo.

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?
I like the versatility of it, you can strip off the prims and do a best in lingerie contest- or even do the contest with the prims! I love making jewelry so I think the pieces are a nice addition and can also be used with other outfits.

Any hints to your next amazing creation?
Maybe something casual. I'll need to take a breath and see what comes to me.

What inspired you to create this latest design?
I was thinking back to my goth club days and pulling inspiration from some of the things we wore then. A tutu, fairy wings and big stompy boots were club standards. It was a little nostalgia for me, and a way to bring part of my rl here to sl in a fun way for others to enjoy.

How do you decide on the name?
Well, I wanted to make it kitty friendly. "Goth-Kitty-Fairy" how do you combine those into a simple sweet name? I tried to step back and look at it overall, there was something mystical about it to me... so Mystik!

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
This came together very easily for me, I can't say anything was difficult.

What was the easiest part of the outfit to design?
The rose and barbed wire jewelry, I had too much fun with those.

You have many fairy-like styles, any other mythical creatures that you think would make good outfits?
I have some thoughts for some other mythical creatures, yes.... I don't want to spoil secrets yet though.

If you had one magical power or spell, what would it do?
Only one? :( Hmm... bring people love

Which one of your skins do you think would go best with Mystik?
 I think the grey kitten skin would go well with it, also the silver tabby, or white tabby.

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?
I really adore this one, I think it is one I will wear frequently. I hope you like it too ;)

What inspired you to create this latest design?
I can't pass up the opportunity to make something for a fun holiday!

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?
The skirt and fluff at the back, I really wanted that fun showgirl look more than a neko look, but I loved the idea of the neko boots with it. I couldn't resist adding the heels for those who wanted to play up the showgirl look.

What was the easiest part of the outfit to deisgn?
The mask, I had a lot of fun with it

Do you have any of your own Mardi Gras plans on SL?
I don't! I'll have to see what comes my way.

What do you enjoy most about making holiday themed outfits?
I enjoy whimsy and holidays give me free reign to let my imagination wild.
I get to let out my inner child a bit and really play and have fun with the designs.

Which holiday do you most look forward to doing an outfit for?
I think Halloween is my favorite holiday and I have done a number of outfits for it, but I am actually looking forward to making up something for Easter. I am ready for spring!

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?
I was excited to release the guy's version so that the guys can match their girls for parties. I LOVE the jeans and hat for the guys and wear them myself. I've seen a number of other girls wearing the guy's set too.

Any hints to your next amazing creation?
It could be anything! who knows?

What inspired you to create this latest design?

My new tabby kitty skins. While I was creating them I was thinking of feral kitties. I was working on another unrelated project that is more fae/fantasy inspired and the two ideas just came together for me. I couldn't help but make the fae version for fun.

How did you decide on a name for this current look?

I went for simplicity on this name, Savage Kitteh and Savage Fae... I love when I don't overthink it. Sometimes the names are so hard to come to lol

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?

The boots for the fae... I had to really think about what would make sense, be different from the kitty version and still be cute and fun.

What was the easiest part of the outfit to deisgn?

The wings- once I started playing with the texturing they came together very easily for me. I love making wings. I love also having the flexibility to have done a kitty and fae version.

How did you choose the colors for your latest design?

The brown was the color I used to design the outfit. A woodsy brown leather was just a natural choice. I brought in black because I loved the idea of people being able to wear this outfit with the Midnight Tabby skin. Then green of course to further reflect nature and I felt I wanted something lighter and came up with the soft suede-y tan color to complete the set.

Where do you envision someone wearing this outfit? (ie, club, fashion show, date, etc)

Although it might seem odd, they kitty sets are purrrfect for a best in neko contest, since they aren't a style that is seen every day- they really stand out. I think any fun kitty activites are perfect for these outfits and the fae ones too would be excellent for a best in wings contest or exploring.

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?

I had a ton of fun doing these. I really enjoy the unusual looks added into my sexy clothing lines. I plan to keep making a variety so that we can express our many moods..... I think that is the blessing of sl... it is such a tool for expression!

Hmmmm hints... think umm.. parade..... beads... ostentation... PARTY!

What inspired you to create this latest design?

I know we are always looking for something new and interesting to wear. I try to keep my designs fresh and come up with a new concept each time. I wanted to try to work with a poncho idea but manage to keep it sexy and a little edgy... I try to challenge myself with each new design.

How did you decide on a name for this current look?

Coming up with a name can be challenging. I was doing a little visualization.. where did I see myself wearing a design like this? I imagined a night time city scape- Metro clicked right away.

What was the hardest part of the outfit to design?

My original 'vision' was quite different from how the outfit came out. This often happens. The challenge is to go in the direction the outfit takes me to the best creative outcome.

What was the easiest part of the outfit to deisgn?

The poncho. It was a lot of fun to create so that made it easy

How did you choose the colors for your latest design?

Black was a must. I imagined other colors that would be dark, and a little dramatic. I decided to throw in white for a little added fun

Where do you envision someone wearing this outfit? (ie, club, fashion show, date, etc)

Running around the city with friends, getting into a little mischief

Anything else you'd like to mention about this outfit?

This outfit is a little different than some I have done in the past and it will be a versatile addition to your LoveCats Wardrobe. I love that many of my outfits can be mixed and matched with others to create really unique looks!

Any hints to your next amazing creation?

My new skins have inspired me to imagine feral kitties, something wild and tribal. I'll be working on some outfits toward that theme. I also have some men's items in the works and they will be coming out very shortly!
